NORSK SETERKULTUR

Norsk Seterkultur is a voluntary organization in agriculture that was founded in 1999 to take care of summer-farm culture in Norway.

Norsk Seterkultur is a voluntary organization in agriculture that was founded in 1999 to take care of summer-farm culture in Norway. The work is aimed at politicians, practitioners/farmers, administration, decision-makers and alliance parties. This means that we work broadly and versatile.

Every spring we send input to the agricultural negotiations. We have meetings with other organizations and both professional associations in agriculture (Norwegian Farmers’ Association and Norwegian Farmers’ and Small Farmers’ Association) who take their input further into the agricultural negotiations.

We organize summer-farming-courses, run a website for children/young people about summer-farming and getting focus on summer-farming in media and authorities.

We have also led a process for nomination of the summer-farming culture to UNESCOs representative list together with the

Swedish summer farmers. The nomination was delivered by the Swedish government March 2023
