Workshop on Building sustainable economic structures for conservation of biodiversity, addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation in our commonlands. The important role of women
This webinar will focus on the particularities of the commonlands as figures in the management of common natural resources that try to find a balance between conservation and the life of the associated community. Thus, various experiences will be shown led by women from communal spaces who have valued their resources by generating income and allowing generational change and stopping depopulation.
From these good experiences, the strengths and weaknesses of the commonland figure will be assessed to develop stable economic activity as well as the design of some first common proposals on how to recover the involvement of the community – especially women and young people – in the use of its resources.
Special attention will be paid to the obstacles that women suffer from being able to make decisions and directly monitor the management and use of resources, as well as the potential for them to take a more relevant role and the management itself to adapt to a perspective with gender perspective.
