
Closing meeting_Seminar on commonlands, gender and governance
The Wonder Commonlands project is coming to an end, and with it, its Closing Meeting, which will take place in the Abruzzo region of Italy. The event will be hosted by the University of Teramo through its Department of Political Science, and Slow Food Abruzzo.
On the 14th and 15th, activities will be held to raise awareness of the commons in the area, the work of women and the future of the commons and their governance from a gender perspective.
The 14th, a day reserved exclusively for members of the Wonder Commonlands Consortium and community members, will be dedicated to the on-site recognition of the high natural value pastures of Chiarano, in the Maiella National Park.
On the 15th, open to the public, a session will be held at the University of Teramo dedicated to evaluating and highlighting the lessons learned from the past in order to build a future that is more connected to the territory, to the governing capacity of local populations, more equitable and with the aim of nature conservation. This conference will feature Italian experts on commons, gender and sustainability, and will include the sharing of international experiences from Spain, Portugal, France, Bulgaria, Greece and Norway. During these days the project consortium. will evaluate the progress made, lessons learned and identify opportunities for future collaboration and capacity building. This session will provide a platform for reflection, planning and alignment of future trajectories to ensure the sustainability and impact of the project beyond its conclusion.
